Change

They say people never truly change. Maybe they don’t but I have a good feeling they do. Sometimes I find myself wondering if I’ll ever stop changing. A lot has happened in these 22+ years I have been breathing. When I was first growing up I thought, “my life sure isn’t all that interesting.” Man was I in for a surprise. Sometimes I feel like I have had a few lifetimes for a few different people. And maybe that’s just how it went down. Maybe it is just me but just trying to find out who you truly are is a pain in the ass. As someone who has traveled a lot and lived in an array of different American cultures I realize how much of a sponge you can be. It isn’t all too often I’ve found people who truly go to the beat of their own drum and aren’t batshit crazy.

Change wise, I had some goals before I moved up here. They were pretty simple. Get Employed. Get Healthy. Get your career on track. Well I have a job, full-time, I have lost quite a bit of weight and feel a lot better about myself, and every once in awhile I get to job hunting for my “dream job”. I’d say considering I haven’t even been here three months yet I’m not doing too badly. I don’t know if I’ll be calling Spokane home, who knows. I have an adventurous spirit but there is plenty I haven’t done in these parts yet ;)

To all my friends in Cali, I miss you so much. You guys and gals were a foundation I hadn’t had for most of my life and I can’t forget that. Now I’m sitting here at my keyboard with a big stupid smile on my face with a rush of nostalgia of the past seven years. Of all the things I never thought I would be, an eternal optimist had to be one of them. I’m finding it has made my life taste sweeter and my path less wrought with pain or sorrow. How can you live life with regrets when there is always something beautiful that blossoms from its ashes?

Oi. Mother of Mine is far from my best work but it was pretty raw. I'm sure it could use some polish but I think I will leave it as is.
